A Message From Cindy Abel

Dear Valued Customers,

After many wonderful years of serving this community, I am writing to share that I have retired and transferred ownership of Canine & Abel to Kelsey Magee, effective July 21, 2026.

This was not an easy decision because caring for your dogs has never been just a job, it has truly been a privilege and an honor. Over the years, I have had the joy of watching puppies grow into senior companions, celebrating new additions to your families, and building lasting relationships with both you and your pets. The trust you have placed in me to care for your beloved dogs has meant more than words can express, and I will always be grateful for your loyalty and support.

As I looked toward retirement, it was incredibly important to me to find someone who shares the same commitment to quality care, compassion, and professionalism. I am pleased to say that I have complete confidence in Kelsey. Many of you already know her, as she has been a valued member of the Canine & Abel team for several years. During that time, I have had the privilege of personally training and mentoring Kelsey, passing along the grooming techniques, standards of care, and customer service values that have always been the foundation of this business. Because of her experience and dedication, I know your beloved pets will continue to receive the same loving care and attention you have come to expect.

One of the greatest comforts in making this decision is knowing that the business will remain in capable, caring hands. I am confident that Kelsey will continue the tradition of treating every dog with kindness, patience, and respect while providing the high-quality grooming services our customers deserve.

While I will certainly miss seeing all of my four-legged friends and their wonderful owners, I am excited to begin this new chapter of life. Retirement will give me the opportunity to spend more time with my family and friends, travel, and enjoy a slower pace of life. Although I am looking forward to what lies ahead, I will always treasure the memories, friendships, and wagging tails that have made every day so rewarding.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your dogs' lives over the years. Your support has made this business so much more than a workplace, it has become a community that I will always hold close to my heart.

Please join me in congratulating Kelsey as the new owner of Canine & Abel. I know she will appreciate your continued trust and support just as much as I have, and I am excited to see the business continue to thrive under Kelsey’s leadership.

Booking appointments

We are currently booking about a week out however, as the weather changes and holidays approach we will get busier and availability will decrease. Please consider making your appointments ahead of time to avoid any delays in grooming. We do have the ability to schedule appointments throughout the year.

Please Note:

Booking appointments

We open at 7am, Monday through Thursday and close no later than 3pm, Fridays we open at 7am and typically close at noon (sometimes later) however, if grooming is finished and all dogs have been picked up we will close early. If a later pickup time is needed, we can arrange this, with sufficient notice. We schedule our days very carefully to allow maximum efficiency, because of this we ask that you please drop off and pick up at your scheduled time. If you need to change your scheduled time, please notify us in advance.
